FAMILLE ET VARIATIONS

Isolated, with no real roots, today’s family has forgotten how to live and breathe. What happened? Mireille Dansereau looks at four different types of families: one with a physically challenged child, one living common law, one being raised by a single mother, and the children of a separated couple. She listens sensitively and attentively as the interviewed families speak their minds. This film presents positive food for thought for the modern family, so that it can get back to a place of communication and harmony, and discover its rightful place in today’s society.

RAISON D'ÊTRE

Tomorrow, death is inevitable. How can we possibly come to terms with that reality? Two adults with cancer have graciously allowed cameras to follow the final months of their lives. For Micheline, it is a positive experience: she sees death as an adventure she is embarking upon. But François only sees the negative side: how can he express his real needs to a society that treats death like a taboo? As a person is dying, more than ever they need the respect and rights given to those who still have their entire lives before them.
