CHRONIQUE D'UN TEMPS FLOU

Through portraits and interviews, in which the concerns of Québec youth aged 20 to 25 are discussed, this documentary takes an oftentimes humourous look at today’s society in Québec: families, couples, work, unemployment, innovation, politics, the future, etc. The director represents the thirtysomething generation and helps to measure progress made since the late 60s.

This video is a recording of cabaret-style performances by female humourists Folles Alliées and their cohorts. Sketches, singing and dancing in an atmosphere of pure fun. They are ruthless, sparing no one. They poke fun at everyone and everything, from the Virgin Mary to Les Nordiques hockey team--even themselves-- with a humour that is subtly feminine.

Tired of living in the modern world, where ‘‘having’’ is more important than ‘‘being’’, Marcel decides to go to India to tap into a source of wisdom that is thousands of years old, and still alive. This inner quest begins on Mount Arunachala, in the south of India, and continues to the source of the Ganges River, at Badrinath, in the heart of the Himalayas. On this long journey, Marcel meets and listens to many gurus who give him teachings on self-knowledge.
