AU CHIC RESTO POP
Montreal's Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood is completely unknown to tourists, as is the Chic Resto Pop restaurant. It is nonetheless unique: for a low price, it serves the surplus food donated by grocers to people who are no stranger to hunger. The people in the neighbourhood who work at Chic Resto Pop are the stars of this film, in which they gradually reveal themselves through humour and music. Along with Cassonade (Steve Faulkner), they write songs to the rhythms of rock, blues, country or ballads. The songs chime with the ring of a truth that is their own.
