Documentary by filmmaker Michel Régnier who travelled to the Khmer-Thai border in January 1980, where he found 800 000 Cambodians cramped into refugee camps, living precariously as they struggled to escape the war and famine that threatened to destroy their country.

Wanting to take advantage of China’s interest in opening its doors to Western civilization, Michel Régnier takes a trip to China to assess the country’s views on progress. He prepares a report on daily life at the steel mills in Wuhan and Wukang, dubbed ‘‘the red steel city’’.
