Documentary concerning Cape Breton writer Alistair MacLeod. His novel and short stories are based in Cape Breton Island. The documentary follows Alistair MacLeod in his daily life, interviews his family and friends and have some of them reading parts of MacLeod’s work.

PLANÈTE BLANCHE, LA
To sketch the great fresco of the Arctic, an unknown and beautiful world, the best specialists for filming polar animals were combined for the first time. They mobilized their local knowledge and talents as filmmakers to stage the grand spectacle of polar nature, full of action and emotion. Arctic wildlife is revealed in all its force, its ability to survive, but also its vulnerability. A work that embraces the simple natural beauty and silently offers a testimony in favor of this fragile and misunderstood wildlife.

FUGITIF OU LES VÉRITÉS D'HASSAN, LE
Hassan Abdulrahman is also known under the names of Dawud Salahuddin, Hassan Tantai, and David Theodore Belfield. African American, he murders Ali Akbar Tabatabai, on July 22, 1980, a former adviser to the Shah of Iran, then fleas to Iran, via Montreal, Paris and Geneva. In 2001 he appears in the film Kandahar of the director Mohsen Makhmalbaf, which revives the controversy over his case because he is still wanted in the United States for murder. In this documentary, Hassan Abdulrahman tells his story, without denying the murder, explaining his journey that brought him closer to the Black Panthers, fundamentalist Islam and the Iranian Revolution. There is also mention of conspiracy theories about collusion between the Iranian and U.S. governments as part of a bargain for the release of 52 hostages held in Iran for 444 days.
