At the age of seventeen, Ruth suddenly decides to leave her Lower St. Lawrence village and move in with her brother Jean-Paul who is a young journalist in Montreal. The teen wastes no time falling in love with Robert, her brother’s best friend and neighbour. Ruth is both stubborn and starved for love and leaves no one around her indifferent. But she feels misunderstood and gradually takes refuge in her inner world, at the risk of permanently cutting her self off from others.
