Rudy Buttignol
Rudy Buttignol has been President and CEO of the Knowledge Network Corporation, B.C.’s public broadcaster, since 2007. He is also President of BBC Kids subscription channel.
Additionally, Buttignol serves as a tutor at Berlin’s Documentary Master School, is Chair of the International Advisory Council of the Hot Docs Documentary Forum, Vice-Chair of the Association of Educational Broadcasters of Canada, President of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Foundation, Director on the Board of the Vancouver International Film Festival, and a member of the European Television and Media Management Academy’s Advisory Council in Strasbourg.
Buttignol was founding Chair of the Documentary Organization of Canada and founder of the Hot Docs Financing Forum. He served on Boards of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, Banff Media Festival, Canada Media Fund, Canadian Conference for the Arts, and Hot Docs Documentary Festival.
Buttignol is the recipient of several international honours including the inaugural Doc Mogul Award from the Hot Docs International Festival and nine Gemini (Canadian Academy) Awards.
