The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is a public-private partnership that “champions the creation of successful, innovative Canadian content and applications for current and emerging digital platforms.” The Canada Television Fund and the Canadian New Media Fund were combined to create the CMF 1 April 2010. The CMF provides two streams of funding to the Canadian television and digital media industries: Experimental, which “encourages the development of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications” and Convergent, which “supports the creation of convergent television and digital media content for consumption by Canadians anytime, anywhere.”
