Marc Hall est un jeune boute-en-train de 17 ans un peu extravagant. Sa positivité et sa confiance lui ont permis d’avouer son homosexualité à ses amis et sa famille à l’âge de 15 ans. Étant donné sa popularité, Marc a évité en grande partie le harcèlement qu’un jeune homosexuel subit habituellement dans ville de classe ouvrière, jusqu’à ce que son directeur lui dise qu’il ne pourrait pas inviter son amoureux au Bal des finissants. Soudainement, Marc doit se battre non seulement pour le droit de s’amuser, mais aussi pour les droits de tous les jeunes gais d’être soi-même.
