Le titre de IT'S ALL GONE PETE TONG, une co-production Canadien-Brittanique, est une phrase "cockney" pour une situation mal tourné. Et il va mal pour la star du spectacle, le fictif DJ Frankie Wilde, dont le haut et excentriques randonnée au sommet du monde du «sexe, drogue, et le rythme techno dance" plonge profondément dans l'abîme de la tranquillité débilitante. Structuré comme un faux documentaire faux biopic, le film commence avec le mystère de la disparition de Frankie aux yeux du public et, ensuite, revient à une époque où le DJ idiosyncrasique dominait la subculture discothèques populaires de club. Sa descente abrupte de la célébrité est précipitée par la perte de son audition. Abandonné par sa compagnie de disque, gestionnaire, épouse et ses amis, Frankie est obligé de transformer son univers transe hallucinatoire de la musique à bat palpitante et d'abus de substances excessives dans un voyage vers la rédemption. Comme il commence à faire face à ses démons, Frankie apprend à apprécier la sensualité de la vue et le toucher, le sens qui le conduira à un retour triomphal. Le film se déroule sur les emplacements ensoleillés à Ibiza, Espagne durant l'été des partis et spectacle musical. Le flux narratif est souvent interrompue par la bande animée, hypnotisant coups de la scène club de nuit, et de faux-entretiens avec des DJs de la vraie vie Tong et Paul Van Dyk qui commentent sur la réputation de Frankie et contemple sa déscente.
