In the 1890s, Rod and Wabi, (both soon to be 20 years of age) are friends and attend a private school in Chicago. Rod comes from a modest background and Wabi is a Métis whose father is the rich owner of a trading post north of the Great Lakes. They will both soon have extraordinary experiences in the wild and dangerous world of the Canadian North after Wabi proposes to Rod that they work as trappers in his father’s company.
