Lynne is twenty-six and lives alone with her eight-year old daughter, Isabelle, her only treasure. She fervently desires to offer Isabelle something different from her own life of poverty and impossible dreams. For love of her daughter, Lynne undertakes a quest for her independence and dignity. She meets two men, Conrad and Frisette, who will each try to help her in his own way. But despite all their willingness, for Lynne the real solution will rest in the independence that she endeavours to achieve for overcoming her background.
