Véronique lives in Paris with her son, Thomas, whose father is a Quebecker that Véronique had left to return to France fifteen years ago. Thomas, who is her entire life, is a haemophiliac whose illness in great part was the reason for her return to France. Today Thomas is twenty years old. He wants to make the most of every moment he has and at the risk of hurting his mother, demonstrates a ferocious zest for life. Determined to reconnect with his origins, he leaves for Île Verte, Quebec, in search of freedom and independence.
