This made-for-TV movie follows Harry Decker, a Bay Street lawyer who has been wrongfully disbarred for allegedly paying off a witness. Harry is now extremely down on his luck. He is plagued with an alcohol problem, an impending divorce, an obsession with his former law firm he believes framed him, and now works as un-registered private-eye in Toronto. Harry meets Adam Fiddler, who is searching for his sister who disappeared years earlier while searching for their father. Adam enlists the help of Harry to find her. The deeper they dig the more connections they find to something sinister. The connections lead to a high-powered gold company, led by an old client of Harry's, and a scheme to cheat Adam's father out of claim for gold is uncovered. Adam and his sister had been separated in the residential school system, and she had been tracking him down for years. Before disappearing she had found him to bring the evidence of their father's gold claim to him, but Adam denied his connections to his family. Harry uncovers the fraudulent base for a multi-million dollar land development created by his old partners which is the key to uncovering their hand in framing him. Another old client at the heart of the land development tries to kill Adam to hide the fact that it was him who killed Adam's sister, after picking her up at a local drop in. Harry is also broken when as he discovers the only lawyer to remains friends with him, after his downfall, was, in reality, at the heart of it.
