Callum Crane (Bill Pullman) is a high-powered lawyer on the verge of becoming a judge when he is accused of assaulting a beautiful legal assistant (Gabrielle Anwar) who works in his office. The distraught victim confides in her roommate (Angela Featherstone) who encourages her to seek justice. In the meantime, a young petty criminal (Devon Sawa) discovers that Crane is his real father and sets out to find him. By the time the two meet, Crane’s determination to save his threatened career and keep the truth from his wife (Joanne Whalley) propels him into an act of desperation that has terrifying consequences.
