Despite the amazing images shown in this two-part documentary, we must not forget the horrible conditions under which the majority live with no means of protecting themselves from being exploited. An Oblate missionary leads us through the masses of Bolivia: an undenial cultural richness coexisting with frightening misery. In this country of contrasts, the missionary seeks to provide a religious and political education while remaining highly respectful of the indigenous people. The job is not made any easier by the country’s government. The first part is entitled Race of Bonze (86:38) and the second is At the Risk of Their Lives (79:18).
