Drama

In the early 1950s, Tivii, an Inuit hunter with tuberculosis, is uprooted and transported to a Quebec sanatorium to be treated. Weakened, he must also deal with the consequences of his separation from his family, unable to communicate in an unknown language, face a culture of which he knows nothing, and above all, who knows nothing of his own. Demoralized, Tivii decides to die and becomes his own worst enemy. An enemy that the nurse Carole fights with all the might of her determination. Carole understands the profound evil that afflicts Tivii and insists that the young Inuit Kaki, sick too, be transferred to his sanatorium. Kaki is familiar with whites and allows his understanding of this world which Tiivi repels to also be understood by him. For his part, Tiivi passes on his knowledge to Kaki, discussing the customs of his country, allows Tivii to regain his pride as well as his desire to recover.
