When Sheldon Kasner arrives in town and offers his services to the local Chevrah Kadisha, the Jewish burial society that prepares bodies for interment, its three kindly old members have little reason to question his motives. Slowly, a kinship forms between Sheldon and the three old men who indoctrinate him into their dark and mysterious world. But, Sheldon has an agenda of his own and he begins to set in motion a scheme involving a $2 million theft and the staging of his own death.
